A Poem for The Writer's Cramp Contest. 22 Lines |
| I did not covet an award, not in the least I simply wanted to share in the feast Volunteering my efforts to judge and admire The contest was open to all who aspire It happened so quickly Doors slammed in a flash And three young hood-lams ran off with a stash I checked in my pocket Pulled out the alarm A tiny, shrill noise-maker, forged in the garage My alarm stopped the hood-lams, right in their tracks Giving time for a counter attack With thieves secure and valuables returned All was well in Billington’s world And so it was, there came to pass A change to the rules of ’inventor’s class’ An honorable member they named me at will And placed my alarm on the entrants poll And all were in favor to give me the vote Most Creative Thinker, I have to note, of Billington Industries for the Year 2012 Not bragging at all - just one for the shelves! |
