Does it matter who says sorry....? |
| The Hardest Word. Though ‘sorry’ is the hardest word Still, ‘sorry’ I will say. To stop the conflict twixt we two I’d say it every day. Your fault or mine? It matters not, I’ll gladly take the blame. I do not care who’s right or wrong My heart still feels the same. Darling you say that I am strong And strong I try to be But underneath my smile there lies The insecure me. An angel and a devil sit They whisper in my ear. The devil says ‘he plays with you’ The angel says ‘don’t fear.’ I am not sure which to believe I only know my heart Beats faster when you smile at me And dies when we’re apart. I will not question who is wrong I will not criticize I’ll cling to hope eternal as The teardrops cloud my eyes. (My feelings thus put into words, I hope he understands The things I try to say to him. My heart is in his hands.) © Sue Carroll September 2012 |
