a little poem i wrote when thinking of a girl i used to love so so much. |
| We came to that path along the sea When the sun sighed its lilac breath in firmament And loosed the day skies above duned grasses That swept your shoulders And I remember the lace of your dress Crowned in sand among the rushes Revolting winds of wounded last breaths Whispering through the misshapes of your gown then to die Solemn we lived Solemn waited In pilgrimage drudged over the blue dim From where once at birth we were sent to drown in its innocence But in time you unburied moons with your hands And let them onto skies heavy with your maudlin love Reflecting the known and unknown of shadowed seas from whence we came and long sailed to shore. And I remember as you approached the water Time’s forgotten swells bowed at your feet Gasping from distances traveled, like broken mariners moaning home Among mysterious miles of dark water Just to watch your winged feet shutter In white breaks Then fall Wended, and washed towards the shores of others Those where your moon has not yet shone, those who will never see. |
