her first year of school you wish you could wait
she always looks for your lap to take
she laughs and giggles and giggles more
wow what a great joy
but you never see her grow as well
before you know it
she attends her prom

she makes you proud as she blooms to life
a young woman ready for flight
now I cry because I know
a father job has been done well
