Letter to Mom



Adopted out at two
Because you
Couldn’t hack it
Did you know I don’t know myself?

Emotions are alien
Feel nothing
Good riddance
Have a nice life
In another home

Just so you know I tried
Killing myself a time or two
Looking back I understand
Maybe you should have done it for me

Not that I hold it against you
Or
Pray against you
Quite the opposite
Recrimination won’t help

So this is who I am
This empty man who
Understands nothing
Vicarious life through others

Why did you make me?
Xenos to my own family
You never let me know
