I Am An Athlete

Dancers are athletes too... (My first attempt at any kind of poetry)

I am an Athlete.
I work hard.
I sweat.
I practice for hours on end.
I am an Athlete.

You are an athlete.
You work hard.
You sweat.
You practice for hours on end.
You are an athlete.

There are so many similarities.
But people only see the differences.

I get joy from doing bar work.
You get joy from running laps.
I wear a frilly tutu.
You wear big, muscular pads.

Why can't people see that we are truly the same?

We are Athletes
We BOTH work hard.
We BOTH sweat
We BOTH practice for hours on end.
Then we BOTH must be athletes.
