a poem written for The Easter season for the light house contest |
Light house Christian poetry Easter Prompt 22 lines Lisa Noe Long outstretched arms holding me tight, The very same arms reaching across the cross that night. So many years ago as the soldier’s sword lay gash a wound, All day and night until the sky was filled with moon. He shall meet even me as his spirit fills my soul, Even the same Christ forgave that soldier a solemn blow. Every Easter we say a prayer for God, the Father who left him there, That’s the way it had to be, no use saying it wasn’t fair. It’s not the Father who took the Son But human nature left to run. I look forward until the day I meet Christ on that shore, I’ll keep myself in good spirit as I am filled with the lord. Welcome home dear Jesus, each and every Easter holiday Your light shines in me and shows me the way. Stay with me throughout the year as you show the way so clear. |
