I worked hard every day

I Gave It My All

I strived to get on top
I worked hard every day
I never did stop
I rarely took time to play

I thought of myself last
But really that’s in the past
The die is now cast
I’m still aghast.

Can I still give more?
It never was a chore
No matter the score
I didn’t mind being poor
I just wanted to be your
Love, forevermore!
