Being A Scott

This is a poem I wrote for my Family tree book. The Scott Family.

Being a Scott means
hunting, fishing, or having a garden.
old timer knives, truck driving and tractors.

Being a Scott means
working with your hands, and a hot temper.
old pickups, barbecues, and tough times.

Being a Scott means
family, cowboy hats, and education.
good of humor, and easy of heart.

Being a Scott means
comfortable boots, decent, and favorable.
having a car that will not run, or working on it.

Being a Scott means
farming, hot coffee, and a hard head.
a soldier, or never having enough money.

Sometimes though.......
being a Scott means
simply you're just shit out of luck.
I wouldn't change it, or anyone
I'm proud
being a Scott.
