My Darkest Hour

A Villanelle poem

Sometimes I can't hear Your answer
through my trials and tribulations
even within my darkest hour.

I know You hear every whisper
even when my cold course darkens.
Sometimes I can't hear Your answer.

You will always be my anchor—
taking away all my burdens
even within my darkest hour.

With joy, I know You're my Father.
To every cry, Your ear listens;
sometimes I can't hear Your answer.

You move me with Your great power,
and I watch as the way straightens
even within my darkest hour.

I know you are still my keeper
every time I see the heavens.
Sometimes I can't hear Your answer
even within my darkest hour.

A Villanelle poem: Aba/aba/aba/aba/aba/abaa

The first line in the 1st stanza repeats in the third line of the 2nd stanza and 4rd stanza.

The third line of the 1st stanza repeats in the third line in the 3rd stanza and 5th stanza.

The final stanza is a quatrain where the first line of the 1st stanza is the third line and the third line of the 1st stanza is repeated in the forth line of the quatrain.
