insomnia's thoughts

sometimes at night, i hear things that are
interestingly enough
silent

i hear them with everything except for my ears.

abnormally absorbing sounds
that are actually not quite
seems backwards.
even a bit
scary.

as long as i don't start smelling through my skin
i fear i will be
ok.
