But Then You Left

Poem of a girl for the person closest to her heart yet there seems to be a problem.

I've always been a shy girl and a loner,
Not having any friends doesn't matter.
You came and befriended me to know me more,
Then later I found out that you are my neighbor.

We used to play and do many things together
And as time passed by, our friendship grew stronger,
But suddenly you left without a word and went away.
Leaving me behind thinking of you each passing day.

I was really happy when you came back on my birthday,
I later found out the reason why I can't make you stay.
Since then you ignored me and became so distant,
It was so hard for me to accept that I just lost you in an instant.

Years later, you never showed up. I felt bad but I let it be.
We had a lot of chances to meet yet you kept on avoiding me.
Now I don't know how to react when we meet again someday,
I just hope that when that time comes, everything would be okay.
