No Regrets

A prayer to be a better person..

The waves rushed towards the shore,
yet remained there for but a moment;
my life too is like these waves,
here today, no more tomorrow.

Sometimes how futile our efforts seem,
how all in vain our whole world appears;
we let our pride get in the way,
and spoil all that's true and so sincere.

So I pray that i may have the strength,
to apologize if i have erred;
let me truly have the courage,
to help my friend in dire straits.

If I can wipe away another's tear,
let me do so with all my heart;
for if tomorrow I cease to live,
let me please have no regrets.
