No, Not Anymore

Realizing that enough is enough, and finally finding strength to move on

Promised myself I wouldn’t cry
Promised myself I wouldn’t let you get to me
Yet here I am, tears running down my cheeks
My eyes not dry for weeks upon weeks

I remember when you told me
You didn’t want to see me get hurt
So when you broke my heart and saw me cry...
Tell me, did you close your eyes?

One day you will wake up and realize
Despite everything I loved you completely
Yet you stupidly threw it all away
My heart and soul you did betray

Each piece of my heart has a part of you
Now on the floor, shattered and broken
Our souls on a path meant to meet
With your harsh words, mine you did mistreat

I need to learn how to stop these tears
I know that you’re not worth them
Although my heart has made its choice
I still remember how to use my voice

Someone said your name and asked me if I knew you.
I looked down, wiped away my tears and said  “no, not anymore”.
I’ve made the choice to finally let go, because I can't stand the pain.
It's time for my last tear to fall so I can smile again
