This is a rendition of Elizabeth Browning's Sonnet 43 I wrote whilst sitting in the rain. |
| How can I love you? Let me count the ways, I can love you from a distance, whether or not in direct sight, Love you from memories of you for hours, even days, A love that can extend from the rising sun until the fall of night. I love you with a passion of which I do not understand, As I love you but dare not go near, For though I love you, a reciprocation I could not demand, I console myself with delusions that you are here. The love I hold for you will eternally resonate among us, Even though I have no reason of why, I fear that our meetings will never be close and thus, I anticipate joining your heart in the sky. My anonymous darling, though I speak not of your name, The cosmos will forever hail you in my heart. |
