Prayer to the Gods

A poem I wrote when I was really in need of some help!

Please help me God,

Help me be a better person,

I can be, I promise,

Of this I am certain.



With your help and unfailing love,

I can conquer my fears,

If I put my trust in you,

You can dry my tears.



Please help me God,

I can't do this alone,

All I feel is empty,

My heart has turned to stone.



I know that you can hear me,

I know you've helped me before,

But I chose to turn my back

and walked away from your door.



I need your strength to guide me,

I need to know what's right,

I need to feel just love in my heart,

And not jealousy, hate or spite.



I need you to stand me up,

When I trip and fall,

I need you to help me

Stand up strong and tall.



I know I don't deserve this God,

I've let you down before,

But help me now and I swear to you

I'll let you down no more.
