Grab the reader

Just a brief note other writers might be interested in. My editor returned an edited novel to me for comment and approval. His first comment he made before he read the entire work was, "What does this prologue have to do with the story?" My answer was - "You answered your own question. That prologue is the 'grabber' - you (and the reader) have to keep reading to find out."
