A POEM THAT I HOPE HONORS ALL WHO FOUGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM. |
In his mind it was just yesterday As he lets his memories roam And he thinks of fighting for freedom In fields so far from home you never knew what he was thinking the memory never shown And he never would talk of the slaughter In the fields so far from home. He was given praise and honor From the country where his was born But he found no glory in fighting In those fields so far from home For he looked in the eyes of children Enemies he was told But they also were fighting for freedom In fields they called home. Let us not forget the loved ones Who fought across ocean’s foam Whose memories now lay lifeless In fields they can't call home line count 20 |
