A poem I wrote many a year ago |
| Late at night, 'neath pale moonlight, I lie awake and wonder About what could be, if I dared to dream, And my soul begins to ponder. Am I the only one who's lonely, Or dreams of better things? Our hopes, our wishes, like lovers' kisses, Are the gifts of which stars sing. Could it be I'm meant to be Somebody truly great? Renowned, revered, both far and near, Dare I hope for this fate? The one I love has no idea of The feelings deep in my heart. My wish, someday, is to find a way, And we'll no longer be apart. Am I a fool to hold these jewels In my heart? That cannot be. We should, we must, instill our trust In ourselves, and dare to dream... |
