Just another piece of crap

Once a cherished statue on a pedestal,
now a pile of shattered glass.
Fragile as it was,
I took care when holding it.
But it slipped out of my grasp,
and fell to the floor.
Now it lay in rubble,
no longer pretty to look at,
no longer upheld as an idol.
Just another piece of crap
that can no longer be repaired by any amount of glue.
