Winter

winter time

The year is half over
and winter has arrived
artic chilled winds with hail and thunderstorms

but today as I arrived home from work
there to greet me was a fine shower of snow flakes
well I know that to the purests it cant be called snow
but to me it was magic

so my job the next few days
to unpack all the jumpers
to make sure
I have enough fire wood close at hand
that the torch has a new battery and there is a spare on hand
to make sure
hmmmm

I can pretend
that the hail that has just arrived
well must half close my eyes and squint
yep that's better
see to me it can be the snow
hmmmm
its close

winter has arrived
hail and rain
cold artic winds
but
i am warm
here inside
a wood fire
a hot coffee

yes winter has arrived
and its a great time of the year
