Friendish Fiend

Friendish Fiend

Death be a friend
Ne’er to end,
Sadness such a hole
Within the sky, within my heart;

Bring back the sun,
The only true bright friend,
And leave in ashes sadness,
As it had come before;

In now, as in the end
Death be an only friend,
So cry the tears of blood
And let it soak the Earth.
