a moment in time written in 1973 |
| Gazed out of the window, The heat haze shimmering, On the cloudless blue horizon. Stretching over the golden sand, Into infinity...... In the mist far beyond, trembling with the heat, I saw, slowly, vaguely, Horses galloping, manes streaming behind on the wind, Coming closer. I could feel their thunderous hooves Vibrating the sand beneath my feet. Growing, increasing, Rumbling now, like an earthquake. I turned my head, And moved forward, Past the Marlborough Cigarette poster going home on the bus. Chrissie Nash (Aged 20) 1974 |
