Summer Joy

The sunny day

Kids outside ready to play

Ice Cream Truck about to get paid



Girls come out with small shorts

Boy stop to stare

while playing ball on the courts

older siblings get mad

when their stuck with the chores.

Parents spend long night out in the town

to leave the kids home

built with a frown

to be crowned the king

of  the house parties.

To the Last day of school

To the first day of Summer

To Gas so high

I cant test drive a hummer

Jokes in the park

late movies after dark

those crazy dogs bark

swim in the ocean

like a shark.

To Travel around

hop-scotch on clear grounds

To wrap it up

to call it a day

sadly to say

your summer is over

back to school

a place I don’t wanna be

can't wait to next year

and summer comes again
