Sinner to Saint is the poem used to describe the work of gangster/author Johnny Mack |
| Sinner to ‘Saint I’ve made a new friend, a very special friend Who in his youth, went along with the trend The estate he lived on, wasn’t the best It was rough and ready and I do not jest Trouble was rife, fights on the street Joining in, as he would not be beat Sometimes things, got out of control People got hurt, things took their toll It came to a head, enough was enough Time to change, though the decision was tough He became a boxer, even turned pro Changing his ways, it really did show Change we all can, but for how long To keep it up, you have to be strong Only time would tell, if he was to succeed Learning your lesson, are wise words to heed Well, so far so good, twenty-seven years on From sinner to ‘saint’ is proof that he’s won He now spends his time, helping others succeed Using his knowledge, writing novels to read An inspiration, to each and everyone That if you try hard enough, it can be done In my opinion, he can hold his head up high The story he tells, brings a tear to my eye |
