The Bore

This is what I realized in the shower this morning. For what it's worth

in the shower thinking

realizing what a bore he must be

  he had thought

people just don't get him

or think as deeply as he

  shallow talk

over coffee it's just trivia

no interest in his thoughts.

suddenly

like a bolt of lightning

it hits him

he's the bore

his wife walks away in the middle of conversation

drifts off to other thoughts

who would be interested

he's not deep

or funny

  doesn't have

anything for others.
