A poem of secrets and keyless locks. |
Do Not Enter By: Brittany A. Preiss It isn’t an easy thing to do For it is chained and latched with key-less locks And bolted shut from bottom up to top And although one would think that this alone would do I’ll trick you now with something new Because along with bolts and chains and locks Its suspended nearly heaven high To prevent even the most pesky passersby From catching the smallest glimpse of what’s inside And what lies behind? You ask perplexed Are things I’d rather you didn’t know Because a secrets not a secret if I’m putting it up for show So instead I think I'll get to work Adding locks and chains and metal bolts And my thoughts will be imprisoned deep Into the dungeons of my soul to sleep So run along, There’s no changing my mind Or stay and help me hang my final “Do Not Enter” sign |
