What goes on in their neighborhood

                                                                              What goes on!

                                                                    They were coming from school,
                                                              Joking round about the boys in the hood.
                                                                  Then there was a loud noise,
                                                                    That all the young boys heard,
                                                                        So many times before.
                                                                      That sound you could hear,
                                                                  That went from house to house.
                                                                      Then there was a scream,
                                                                      That came after the last scene.
                                                                      That all the young boy's heard,
                                                                          So many times before.
                                                                                  In a place,
                                                                            They call the "hood".
                                                                    Everybody weeps from far and near,
                                                              Another one of their young black boy's is dead.
                                                                A scene that every young black boy's heard,
                                                                          So many times before,
                                                                That goes on around in their neighborhood.
                                                                    Will we remember a week from now,
                                                                                  What went on'
                                                                        In the place they call the " hood".
                                                                      When that child, took his last scene.
                                                                            He was coming from school,
                                                                                Joking around about,
                                                                              "The boy's in the hood".
