A poem about my math teacher |
| They were monstrous, those devilish numbers Always sneering at my pathetic ignorance ‘+’ ‘-‘ ‘=’ all seemed Greek to me Those uncrackable formulas laughed in my face Driving me crazy, drowning me in despair My nightmare it was, That thick green textbook, labeled ‘Mathematics’ On the verge of giving up, turning away When there appeared an angel, Giving me all the attention and mentoring that I needed The thin, tall angel with a beautiful smile Showering upon me her help, her patience. Infinite hours, she spent beside me Tutoring me, guiding me, Teaching me more than just numbers Showing me what life is, Instilling in me the confidence I yearned for, Making me realize that angels live on earth, too. |
