Dear father time I had to include you in my rhyme

Its very important that I release whats been on my mind

as I grow older this generation is getting colder

Is time really on my side? I wonder

the aroma of mama's fried chicken in air

parties every weekend that by twelve mid-night turned into a block affair

hoola hoops, hide-n-go-see, and mini skirts

chasing the new boys you meet and double dutch in the street

dear father time I was told that history repeats

however, all this violence and confusion in the world there's no peace it makes me wanna retreat

prices rising and the people are fallen.fallen into being homeless, jobless, carless, and even worse

their losing their will to live

politians preaching self sufficiency but they're taking away government funded programs that help people to become self

sufficient

dear father time when is history going to repeat sio we can bring back the days when life was ooh so sweet
