Dark Tails

Poem for CSFS competition.

Ode to Love

Lashing out, our tails entwine,
yours betwixt mine.

Claws sharpened,
ripping purple flesh.

Dark blood oozing,
feathering the passion nest.

Magenta eyes screaming pain
in the night.

Wings and thorax twirling
in the midst of flight.

Down we fall in unison,
the courtship done.

Melded together forever,
becoming one.
