A Moth to the Flame

Dangerous love....can we ever escape from it? {Do we WANT to escape?)

                                            My delicate opaque wings
                                                  rippling of passion,
                                          undulating throughout my body
                                        becomes distracted by your flame.

                                              Just a warming flame,
                                                my heart lied to me,
                                                    nothing more...
                                                yet, as I approach
                                                the burning embers,
                                            I seem to be in a trance.
                                            A forbidden lovers dance
                                            as I'm being drawn closer...
                                                        closer...
                                                      still closer...
                                            until I begin smoldering~~~

                                            As your fire overtakes me,
                                                searing my splendor
                                              engulfing me completely.
                                                        I realize...
                                          I'm withering for your enjoyment,
                                                    but to my horror,
                                          I find myself drawn even deeper
                                                into this macabre parody.

                                                  Nursing my twisted,
                                                          hardened
                                                    ivory blacken wings,
                                                      I try to escape...
                                              leaving a trail of ashen tears.

                                            My gaze... eternally drawn back
                                                to see his sinister smile
                                                        leering at me
                                                      through the flames.
                                                    Will he follow the trail
                                                I so graciously left behind
                                                        in desperation
                                                      for a final embrace
                                            before I am burnt to a heap of nothing?
