Trips around the world
Far-fetched stars & rainbows

We used to hope together
Of a future full of promise
Of love without conditions
Of life shared forever

Our  then...

The way we are

We are near yet so sadly apart
Holding hands that no longer touch
Giving hugs devoid of warm embrace
Exchanging news but no longer stories

We are laughing yet empty inside
Drifting away farther & farther
Our “we” has slowly vanished
More of “you”, more of  “me”

What have we become to one another?
Where do we go from here?
How did we ever come to this moment?
When do we start anew?

Our now...

Is there a place for us again
To bridge our then and now?
