Poem - Darkness

Darkness

Deeper down, descending in to the cave,
I see the low light in the darkness.
The tension tightens, tormenting me,
everlasting echo's wail my name.
Dense darkness closes cleverly behind,
the dim lantern fades.
I reach aimlessly, regretting my loss
as I disappear from sight.
