A poem inspired by the guy who left on vacation and didn't turn off his alarm clock. |
| Why did you do it, Alarm Clock Man? Was it too much to stretch a hand? The "Off" button exists, I hope you see Or maybe you could have cut the power for me Wherever you are I hate your guts Because the beeping is driving me nuts Day and night, stretched on for weeks I always hear that infernal beep Right now is Spring Festival, this I know And you're off at the in-laws, kids in tow Was it a cruel joke, aware you'll be gone for weeks To leave the rest of us with that incessant beep? Please come back soon and hit the snooze Before my vandalism hits the news "Apartment burglary!" They'll all say "She took the clock, there's hell to pay!" There it still is, scorching my ears That beep-beep-beep-beep seems to have gone on for years I crave the moment when the beeping ceases If it doesn't stop soon I'll smash it to pieces. |
