an old item that i changed slightly

last night i noticed
how the blueness has been gone for a while
replaced by the unknown color of logic
that paints the growing distance, mile after mile

how I've forgotten my obsessive drive
to think of you as much as i can
with the interim not proceeding five

last night i noticed also
how, instead of pleading i now sadly smile
at the thoughts of you filed away
where no-longer-needed thoughts go
together laying in one lonely pile
