Poem about finally being over heartache |
| Free Finally discharged from shackles That held a spirit captive. Blinded by a sunrise of realization. Able now, to see truth And feel whole heartily its clarity. Bitterness no longer consuming A soul once devastated by anguish. The promise of love unkept, Abandoned by a faithless mortal. Was nearly sufficient in slaying innocence. Years of damning ones self Over the outcome of uncontrollable events Has come to an abrupt close. Capable at long last to stand strong, And look back without regret. With no tears hindering sight, Or injury obscuring a heart's freewill. A slave to fraudulent love no longer. Set free by benevolence. Healed by the hand of actuality. The core of this body is ready again, To love and relish in its gratifications. Preceding knowledge of the Inferior felt emotions, The favorable moments shared. Will be remembered, And the harbor in which all others are measured. Rebuilt, repaired Free of agonizing self-pity, Acknowledgment of independence The key, the strength To set free a tortured character In the play of life. |
