A poem about expressing your feelings when you know it will not make someone care for you |
| Heartsong I’ve broken all the rules, the ones that say I should shut my mouth just in case the truth flies out. But my tender heart’s insistent its softness must be spoken it offers verbal tokens of my abiding love. Overriding sense and reason, it conspires a thoughtless treason. Never mind the aftermath all its yearning brings. When not a word should pass my lips, it sings and sings and sings. |
