The Emptiness of my Mind

After a friend's visit.

the stillness of the house
mirrors
the silence
that echoes in my mind

your bubbly laughter filled
our life for weeks
now i suddenly must
adjust again to
my own company

the only problem is
my mind is as
empty
as your room next door
