why i be me

my ego has gotten in the way
finding a new way to ruin my day
pride covers my ears
so i only hear what i think i hear
finding ways to make my life a mess
my heart and soul crying in distress
my thoughts on the way of things that should be fair
but really why do i care
what you do to be mean to me
i go home but cant get these thoughts free
so the meaner and the meaner i be
destroying all things that i find dear
until no one wants to be near
alone i shed many tears
and keep inside all my fears
