Where Is God?

If there is a God, why do good people suffer?

Where is God in the empty stomach,
Of a little starving child?
Where is God in the rapist's conscience,
When her innocence is defiled?

Where is God in the twisted mind,
Of a vicious serial killer?
Where is God in an HIV virus?
Is this 'His love' that weakens and pains her?

Where is God in a stillborn baby,
Who never had a chance at life?
Where is God in her broken heart,
As she lays dead beside the knife?
