My second ever attempt at poetry, written for a comp...thought I'd join in the WDC fun!

Genetic Manipulation

Stand in awe and gaze at the product of human achievement,
Of man’s accomplishments in tainting evolution,
Taking natural creation, a perfect design, only to flaw it exquisitely,
Deforming flawless flesh and bone for greed and profit,
Human Bacteria, septic gods with dirty fingers,
Animal renegades that twist and break the rules,
Bounty-hunting innate beauty to diminish it to hungry mutation,
Stand in awe and gaze at the product of human achievement.
