My Kittens

kitten paws
dance in purring rhythm
across my heart
wrapping me in a quilt of
unconditional love;

fur in shades of orange
and tan, black and white,
bright eyes, accents of
blue and green and amber
look at me in soft silence,

whispers to my soul
