Questions to a Stranger

This was written for my biological mom.I've never met her and I wondered what I would say.

Questions to a stranger

I don’t know how I’d feel if you really did call

Should I be mad because you left us?

Should I feel sad because I know nothing about you?

Should I ask you where you were?

Or why you did it?

Or maybe just a, “how have you been?”

Would a, “who are you “suffice?

Or maybe just tell me the story and I’ll listen

Should I tell her that she’s always been in my prayers?

Should I tell her that I understand why she had to let us go or

Let her think I’m mad and save it for later

Or should I really be mad?

Should I tell her that her name has always been a distant memory?

Should we talk about school, men, life?

Should I even conversate with her?

One thing is for sure

I don’t consider her my mom so I hope she doesn’t expect “Mom” because to me she is just a stranger.
