This is just my observations of people around me

At a very young age,
girls in my class started to like boys
i didn't get swept up
but i kept an ear pealed.

nobody showed interest
in me over the years.
girls go through guys
and we call them
whores
but what do we call them
that don't care bout boys?
losers? queers?

if you care more about
getting out of school quicker
than hanging out with guys and kissing
what are you called ?

huh?...silence.
its always the reply to this question.
and if you do answer
you in turn are called a name

Names

they once meant who you are
now they mean what you are.
children cry because kids have begun
to use them against each other.
elderly people are immune to it
by their age.

if you don't fit in...what does that even mean?
you don't like the same music? people?
are you the wrong weight? height? hair colour?

silence again...

im going to
put my converse clad foot down
and turn my back on the vortex
thats trying to pull me in...
