A poem about a boy with big dreams |
| Billy Jon Roan dreamt he could fly Woke up and swore it was real. So he climbed up the chimney, but fell down the flue. He bounced in the fire and burned his left shoe. He fled from the house and gave a great yell Took off his shirt then jumped in the well. Billy Jon Roan knew he could soar He determined to persevere. So he glued some feathers onto a great kite Then off the roof he leaped a great height. For a second or two in the air did he glide But the wings broke apart and down he did slide. Billy Jon Roan followed his dream Studying much math and science. Now as a pilot he soars in the air, Flying a plane devil may care. He sees the sun rise for all to see He became what he strived to be. |
