Lost and Torn

A short poem of my emotions at the time of writing. New to poetry, so comments welcome.

Lost and Torn

Waves of emotion crashing down
Darkness looming all around
My head is hurting, too many thoughts in there
I seem unable to find answers anywhere

Torn between patience and utmost urgency
Torn between understanding and severe jealousy
Unable to think, confusion deep inside
Unable to reason, I feel I need to hide

But I will pull it together and stand up tall
I will not give up before I give my all
More than me God knows what I can take
He has used this test to bring me wide awake

Lord grant me the strength I need to go on
Fill my heart Lord and keep my mind strong
But the biggest prayer I make this day
Please open my eyes Lord, and show me the way
