The last moments leading to death. |
| The lizard slithered across the road, Slowly, as if carrying a heavy load. He was sleek and black, with a long thin tail, 'bout as skinny as a long black rail. With his eyes glowing brightly, right in to mine, And his skin so dark, it began to shine. He spoke to me and asked me to dance, I figured I might as well take a chance. Being a little afraid, I jumped on a boulder, He turned around and looked over his shoulder. He said, "are you ready?" and I said, "Okay." But being reluctant, I shied away. He started to slither across the graveyard, All of a sudden he caught me off guard. I jumped real high and said, "I'm gone." He said, "don't leave now, you won't be here long." "For I am showing you your death, But now you better catch your breath. Because of your sins, you'll be leaving tomorrow, And the rest of the world will feel no sorrow. |
