Some times life changes your perception of what is beautiful and what is perfect. |
| Two Vases Two vases standing side by side. Gentle samples of Asian design. Together, both are perfectly matched. But earthquake hits up-heaving shelves. And gravity, with sticky fingers, throws one to the floor. Now shattered. Building it again, using cement sutures, borrowing from other pieces. A bit of bottle. A marble. Green glass. A shard of Grandma’s China. A new vase. Mirroring no other, no template to follow, the end result unknown. Mourning the perfect vase, but in its place rises something new. A sweet Frankenstein creation. The way it holds the light reflects its lone design, and begs the question – which is more beautiful? |
