Poem..It's about lying and how it hurts...

What is a lie?

Is it simply not telling the truth
or is there a deeper meaning?
Could a lie be for
Protection? Deceit?

Maybe you think the truth hurts too much
or just maybe the lie is worse.
Why lie to loved ones,
When they tell the truth?

Do they deserve the truth just like you
Or is lying to them better?
If you lie to them
Don't expect the truth.
